We strive for well-developed puppies; mentally, physically and socially!
Our puppies are raised by the "Puppy Culture Method". They start at birth with neurological stimulation which means a Q-tip is used to stimulate all the toes on each paw, a warm cotton ball is put on their tummies and they are rotated with head up and then down for improved circulation. As the weeks progress new things are introduced to build their confidence and curiosity. Everything is done in a controlled environment.
Different textures and sounds are introduced using the puppy gym. As they grow they can reach hanging things at different height to explore. They first can reach the very soft toys, as they get bigger they can reach harder items and those that make sounds. A toddler's slide with 2 steps helps them to learn to climb. We start to feed them together using a round pan at about 3 weeks of age. As they learn commands such as sit we require them to sit before the pan is put down. Come is another command they learn quickly and enjoy the rewards of puppy treats. We work with the puppies with the basic commands.
The puppies are introduced to a collar and leash and learn to walk with this equipment. The wobble board and fit bone are used for them to control balance. We introduce them to rooms in the house and normal sounds of the environment. When they are ready they get to explore the outside world. We set up tunnels, child's tent, balls and many other things besides the yard to enjoy. In addition, they have visitors throughout the weeks of different ages and also meet the other dogs in the house. We are working for well rounded puppies with curiosity and willingness to be around others. We want them to be good family companions.
When it is time the puppies have their real first car ride to have the BAER testing done. They receive their first set of vaccinations at the appropriate age and finally and health check before they go to their forever families.
Our puppies go home with at least 2 blankets and a couple of toys (usually one has become a puppy's favorite) they have slept with to make the transition to their new homes easier. We also provide a bag of food they have been eating, a folder with all their paperwork (copy of BAER Testing, vaccinations, health check and AKC Registration papers), and any additional information we feel can help the new owners.
We require the puppy to be taken to their Vet with a few days to get the puppy establish and to know the puppy is healthy. We hope the new homes will keep us updated as the puppy grows and we love pictures and will post them on our site.
